A Brief Biography
It started as a way to combat shear boredom. For no other reason than that, Gabe Downey and Josh Potter spent hours upon hours violently bouncing ideas off one another. These ideas never had any rhyme or reason. They were more like a lingering cloud of unfinished and incomplete sentences that were swallowed up by laughter (then usually regret) which only they thought were funny. And with no other supervision than themselves and a tall can of Arnold Palmer, for some reason they thought these ridiculous spasms of language and blurts of writing were good ideas.
Good or bad, the pair realized that if they didn’t find a way to harness these ideas, Potter and Downey would eventually either implode on themselves or do something criminal to someone else.
Thus was born The Looney Bin, which is the perfect name really. It is a bin, essentially, that Downey and Potter will continue to pour whatever Loonyness they come across, which could be a lot considering all the land they cover with Potter traveling and currently residing in Missoula, Montana and Downey protecting the home front in Detroit.
So proceed with caution. Downey and Potter are on a bizarre mission to reach every corner of the universe with their words. To whatever corner humor, culture, politics and society have gone to hide, The Looney Bin will find it…and it’s all over after that.
